1. Data you provide
MemoRead Journal collects only what is needed to run the service: your email (Firebase Authentication), the content you enter (notes, excerpts, shelves, metadata such as tags, ratings, or series), and an internal account identifier. Data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) and is accessible only to you. The camera is used solely to scan barcodes and capture text excerpts; images are processed in real time and are not saved or uploaded.
2. Your library
Your email, notes, quotes, comments, and library are stored on Firebase for the service (sync and backup). They remain tied to your account and are accessible only to you.
3. Usage data and improvement
Limited usage data (device, language, country, number of logins, app version, etc.) may be analyzed to improve MemoRead Journal.
4. Banner ads
Hosting and ads are separate. Firebase stores your app data; AdMob may show banners. Your library content is not sent to AdMob to advertise based on your books or notes.
Any banners shown are non-personalized (not based on your reading activity inside MemoRead). They help cover server, maintenance, and app store publication costs so the app can remain available.
EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland: Google AdMob displays a message when you open the app to request your consent to send this technical data. If you decline, banners may not appear; the rest of the app still works. If you accept, non-personalized banners may appear. To change that choice: About → Privacy and Security → Change ad authorization (shown only when Google AdMob requires it for your region). See Google Privacy Policy and AdMob & user data.
5. Your rights
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time: Menu → Manage Account → Delete Account. We may update this policy; the date above will change accordingly.
